Ingredients:
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 to 4 tablespoons buttermilk
- Sprinkles or colored sugar optional
Instructions:
Turn on your oven and heat it up to 375F 190C
Put parchment paper on baking sheets
Mix the flour, baking soda, and baking powder together in a medium-sized bowl using a whisk
Put away
Melt the butter and mix it with the white sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy
Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract and beat until everything is well mixed
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are just combined
Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of buttermilk to the dough if its too dry
This will make it softer
Take tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll them into balls
Use the ready baking sheets to put them on
If you want to make the dough balls a little flatter, you can gently press down on each one with the bottom of a glass that has been dipped in flour or sugar
If you want to decorate the cookies, you can sprinkle them with colored sugar or sprinkles
After the oven is hot, bake the cookies for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden
After baking, let the cookies cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheets before moving them to wire racks to cool all the way
Have fun with your wonderful soft sugar cookies
