Southwestern Steak and Cheddar Panini

Hookups Albany

This Southwestern-inspired panini combines juicy steak, melted cheddar cheese, and vibrant peppers and onions, all pressed between slices of sourdough bread with a zesty Southwest seasoned mayonnaise.

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of steak cooked
  • 8 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced red bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup sliced green bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Southwest seasoning blend
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Warm up a skillet or a panini press over medium heat

Add the Southwest seasoning blend to a small bowl and mix it together

On one side of each slice of bread, spread the seasoned mayonnaise out evenly

Put bacon, cheddar cheese, red and green bell peppers, red onions, cilantro, and cooked steak on one slice of bread

Add pepper and salt

Place another slice of bread on top, mayonnaise side down

Use olive oil to cover the outside of the sandwiches

Set the panini press or skillet down and put the sandwiches on it

Use a spatula to press the sandwiches down if you are using a skillet

Toast the bread for three to four minutes on each side, or until it turns golden brown and the cheese melts

Take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit before you serve

Cut the sandwiches in half across the middle and serve them hot
